Neighbours have expressed their shock after a shooting with a video emerging of a man walking up to a property and appearing to fire it several times.

Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers were called to an address on Prince Edward Avenue in Clarksfield at around 1am, and have confirmed shots were fired in what is thought to have been a "targeted attack".

No injuries have been reported and no arrests have been made.

A police cordon has been in place since the early hours of the morning, and footage of the alleged incident was captured on Facebook Live and uploaded to the platform - which has since been deleted.

The Oldham Times visited the street this morning, Tuesday, and spoke to nearby residents, including one eye witness who said he is "lucky to be alive".

The 40-year-old, who wished to remain anonymous, explained he told a "drunk" at the junction of Cedric Road and Prince Edward Avenue to be quiet because they were being loud.

He said: “The guy who had a gun, which I didn’t realise, told me to be quiet because I said 'shut the f*** up'.

“The guy was drunk, I didn’t see a gun at the time it must’ve been in his pocket.

“No one else was there, only me - my neighbour said I’m lucky to be alive."

He said he had just finished his shift as a taxi driver, and after each shift when he gets home he goes on a late night stroll.

He added: “After the shots I saw them jump into two cars - one was a Vauxhall Insignia, a black one, and the other was a BMW."

It is understood that the property which was under fire was home to a family, Cllr Nadeem Iqbal said.

He added: “You don’t normally have this kind of stuff happen on our street, so it’s shocked everyone.

"It happened at about 1am and it woke me up - you could tell it was gunshots.

"You initially think it was fireworks because we have that problem in the area.

“There were six or seven shots. You don’t expect this on your doorstep - it has really shocked us.”

Benny Hussain, a paralegal who lives on Prince Edward Avenue, explained that he saw "flashes" when the gun was fired.

The 26-year-old added: "At about 12.50am last night I heard noises and ran to the window and saw six or seven guys stood here, then I saw flashes - there was about four or five.

"After he shot he stood there for maybe 30 seconds then got in the car and drove off.

"About four or five people live there, I went to see if they were alright because we get on - I've lived opposite them for 10 years.

The force is currently investigating the incident and have increased patrols in the area.

Detective Inspector Clare Harrison, from Greater Manchester Police's Oldham district, said: “Any report of a firearms discharge is always shocking and I know that people within the local area will be concerned and worried following this news.

“However, I want to tell the public that we do believe that this is a targeted attack with no wider threat to the public.

"Extra officers will be in the areas for reassurance and I would recommend chatting to them if you have any concerns - they are there for you and will be able to assist with any queries."
