A new development of more than 180 energy-efficient homes has launched with prices starting from £225,000.

The project, brought by Countryside Homes, is already attracting interest among prospective homeowners after opening the doors to its latest collection of two, three and four-bedroom homes.

Hartshead View promises to provide 187 energy-efficient homes to the area, with a mix of detached and semi-detached properties with prices starting from £224,995.

The launch of the development follows the success of Countryside Homes' popular Radclyffe Green in Chadderton and neighbouring site, Radclyffe Gardens, as well as Heyside Grove in Royton.

Named after the local landmark, Hartshead Pike, it is hoped the homes will attract first-time buyers and families, being in close proximity to Oldham town centre and 30 minutes to Manchester city centre, plus excellent schools and beautiful countryside.

Since construction began in 2022, Countryside Homes has forged relationships with local primary schools as pupils from Medlock Valley Primary School, Holy Rosary RC Primary School and St Martin’s CofE Primary School have received lessons in health and safety and the importance of staying safe when playing near to or walking past building sites.

In August this year, two of the showhomes are set to open though buyers can also take a tour of similar homes at the nearby Countryside Homes' development across Greater Manchester.

A proportion of the properties will also be available through affordable housing provider, Great Places Housing Group and Sigma Capital's private rental brand, Simple Life.

Joe Turner, Managing Director, Manchester and Cheshire East, Vistry, said: “Expanding our presence in Oldham and providing more energy efficient homes for local people indicates the scale of demand in this area of Greater Manchester.

“We’ve enjoyed building relationships with neighbouring schools and educating children on the importance of site safety.

"Investing in the areas in which we build is a crucial part of our commitment to leave a positive legacy long after construction completes.

“We’ve already started welcoming visitors to our sales suite every day from the local area and across Greater Manchester, so would advise anyone interested to get in touch with our sales team and book an appointment.”
