Festival-goers were caught unawares when a group of men jumped over fencing to join them at the event.

Parklife, at Heaton Park near Prestwich, is one of the most highly anticipated events in Greater Manchester’s musical calendar and has been running over this weekend.

But video footage captured at the event on Sunday shows a group of men eager to join the festivities seemingly without paying.

A festival-goer said: “Just as the crowd was building at the Magic Sky Stage to see Horse Girl at 5pm, around 15 men jumped the fence and landed on top of the toilets to get into the park.

“No one cheered them on, but no one stopped them either.

“One security guard came to check the area after, but they had already run off.”

Despite unseasonably cool weather and occasional rain this year, the most recent outing proved to be as popular as ever.

This year’s line-up featured Doja Cat, Disclosure, Becky Hill, Kaytranada, Peggy Gou, Nia Archives and Sugababes.

As well as music, the festival also featured food and drink stalls and fairground rides.
