Circus Starr, the circus which aims to be inclusive for disabled audiences, will return to Oldham next week for it's spring tour.

Circus Starr are holding two circus inspired shows at the Queen Elizabeth Hall next week on June 27.

The first show will begin at 4.45pm and the second at 7pm, and both promise to amaze the vulnerable and disabled children in attendance, as it sees the return of Ringmistress Mariska Gandey.

Joining her on stage will be the hilarious Brazilian clown, Lukinha and acrobatic skills from the charismatic Fingers Crossed!

Traditionally, the show is held in a classic, circus-style big top tent, but Circus Starr say they are unable to use a tent again this year due to 'the rising costs and logistical challenges'.

They say despite not being able to use the tent, they are happy to hold the show indoors "meaning that deserving families don’t miss out on experiencing a magical performance".

Circus Starr adapts their event to suit the needs of their unique audiences by taking sensory measures, such as lowering the volume, toning down the lights, providing sensory packs and offering free tickets.

As they are a not-for-profit and community interest company, their work relies solely on donations from community-driven businesses in the areas they perform in.

Fundraising director Michelle Crossley said: “We love sharing our magical art form with those who usually miss out!

"I am so happy that we can still share a fabulous show with the community, despite the challenges we are currently facing.

"Thank you so much to all the businesses who have helped us continue our valuable work in their town.”

The company funds their shows and free tickets by contacting local businesses in each area they visit to see if they would like to cover the cost of a child's ticket.

They also welcome donations from anyone who would like to help them make a difference.

Their free tickets are distributed to local schools, charities, organisations and families.
