A heat alert has been issued for Oldham this week as temperatures are set to be high this week.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has issued a yellow Heat-health alert across all of England, except the North East, and is in place for much of this week.

The alert began at 8am this morning (Monday, June 24) and is due to end at 5pm on Thursday (June 27).

According to the UKHSA, minor impacts are probable across the health and social care sector.

This includes and increased use of healthcare services by the vulnerable population, an increase in the risk of mortality amongst vulnerable people and increased potential for indoor environments to become very warm.
