A man who was driving while high on methamphetamine has been banned from getting behind the wheel.
Andrew MacDonald, of Hawthorne Grove, Chadderton, was driving on Duckworth Hill Lane in Oswaldtwistle, Lancashire, on December 29 last year when he was found to have the drug in his system.
At Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on August 23, the 37-year-old pleaded guilty to driving under the influence of drugs and was sentenced.
MacDonald was disqualified from driving for 14 months and was handed a community order, requiring him to attend 15 days of rehabilitation activity requirement.
He was also ordered to pay a fine of £50, a victim surcharge of £114 and court costs of £85.
A woman has been jailed after she assaulted three people.
Haseena Bibi, of Incline Road, Oldham, assaulted a man and two women in the borough on July 17 as part of an unprovoked and serious attack.
The 39-year-old appeared at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court on August 20 having previously pleaded guilty to the three assaults.
She was jailed for eight weeks and was made to pay a victim surcharge of £154 and court costs of £85.
A man has been jailed and been ordered to pay hundreds of pounds in compensation for a series of thefts in Oldham.
Robert Novak, of no fixed abode, committed a total of eight thefts between May 23 and July 25 this year as shops including Boots, the Co-op and Ashton Road Pharmacy.
The 38-year-old stole hundreds of pounds worth of items including an electric toothbrush, groceries, razor blades and medicine.
Novak is a persistent offender and committed the thefts while he was on licence, meaning he was recalled from his licence and appeared Wigan and Leigh Magistrates' Court on August 19.
In total, Novak was sentenced to 14 weeks in prison and was ordered to pay a total of £563.42 in compensation to the different shops.
