A terraced home is set to be converted into a house of multiple occupation (HMO) after plans were approved by Oldham Council.

Currently a two-bedroom property, the home will now be converted to hold four bedrooms, with one existing room being split into two and the former living space also to become a bedroom.

The plans, which relate to a property on Old Road, Failsworth, also outline a side door being filled in with bricks, and patio doors being added to the rear of the property.

After the plans were granted on Thursday, September 4, the existing kitchen and dining area will become open plan with a separating wall being knocked through.

On the lower level, a new shower and toilet room will be added next to the bedroom.

Upstairs, what was the master bedroom at the front of the property will see the introduction of a separating wall to convert the space into two smaller bedrooms.

There will also be access to a shared shower space on the upper level, which sits to the rear of the property.

The second upper bedroom will be retained with all upper bedrooms being outlined as single rooms and the lower bedroom being a double.

The property is located close to Failsworth Aldi and Tesco and only a two-minute walk from Failsworth Metrolink stop.
