Oldham primary schools performed lower than the national average in the Key Stage 2 SATs exams, according to the latest league tables.
The Department of Education has released its annual performance tables, which includes overall results for each primary school in the country.
Key Stage 2 SATs are assessments taken by year six pupils during the summer term. Most children taking the exams are 11 years old.
In Oldham, 58 per cent of year six pupils achieved the expected national standards, which is slightly below the national average of 62 per cent.
At the same time, four per cent of year six pupils in Oldham achieved a higher standard, which is, again, below the national average of eight per cent
The data released by the government also shows that the average score for both reading and maths in Oldham is 104, which is only slightly below the national average scores of 106 and 105, respectively.

In terms of results for individual schools, Christ Church CofE Primary School on Crawley Way in Chadderton had the highest percentage of year six pupils meeting the national standard at 90 per cent. The number of pupils achieving higher here is also above the national figures at 10 per cent.
St Anne's CofE Lydgate Primary School followed closely behind with 87 per cent of pupils meeting the national standard and 10 per cent achieving higher.
The school that had the highest percentage of high achievers was Holy Trinity CofE Dobcross Primary School, where 20 per cent, or one fifth, of pupils achieved higher than national standards.
Oldham’s highest average reading score was 110, which was achieved by three schools – Holy Trinity CofE Dobcross Primary School, St Anne's CofE Lydgate Primary School and St Mary's CofE Primary School, High Crompton.
In maths, St Agnes CofE Primary School had the highest average score at 110.
At the other end of the tables, Holy Rosary RC Junior Infant and Nursery School in Fitton Hill had the lowest percentage of pupils meeting national standards at 33 per cent.
