A new traditional tearoom has opened within a Saddleworth village pub.
Dob X Tea is a new venture by the Swan Inn in Dobcross, offering a daily afternoon tea service in its upstairs room.
Teasing the opening on the pub’s Facebook page in recent weeks, the Swan Inn wrote: “A new daytime offering at The Swan for slower mornings and proper conversation. Set upstairs at the Swan in the heart of the old square, the very pub where Yanks was filmed.
“DOB × TEA offers a calm space for a traditional tea experience, with views across Dobcross and the Saddleworth hills.”
The Swan Inn has also posted the new venture’s menu, which includes everything you would expect from a classic British afternoon tea, with all food items priced reasonably between £2 for a sausage roll and £4.95 for a selection of finger sandwiches.
They have the full range of hot drinks, including a pot of tea for one or two, and the essential scone, jam and clotted cream for £3.50.
Some of the other offerings include crumpets, toast and preserves, tea cakes, cheese on toast, and bacon and sausage sandwiches.
The menu also hints that the menu will be expanding its breakfast options in the future with a note that says “more coming soon”.

This opening comes just in time for Mother’s Day, which the new tearoom will be hosting on Sunday, March 15.
For £32.50 per person, the pub is offering an afternoon tea and prosecco, which includes a scone with jam and cream, finger sandwiches, cake and a pot of tea.
The Swan Inn, which was taken over by the Welby family in August, is a traditional pub located in the heart of Dobcross village square.
It also has a kitchen, which serves up a heart pub classics menu, as well as specials.
