An application looked to convert the space which previously operated as Total Beauty tanning salon into a laundrette on Long Lane, Chadderton.
The semi-detached property is located in a partly commercial but largely residential area of Chadderton, close to the M60 motorway.
Now, the vacant site can be brought back into use after permission was given by Oldham Council.
According to an application report prepared by a council planning officer, the application requested for the laundrette to open between 6am and 9pm Monday to Sunday, but an environmental health officer raised a concern that this would be a "noise nuisance" for neighbours.
Instead, a condition has been added for the laundrette to only open between 7am and 7pm each day of the week.
The planning officer felt the proposal was acceptable and would not have a negative impact on the community.
The application was formally approved on Friday, April 24.
