A new food and drink venue is set to open its doors next month.

Ruger Fjord Bar & Kitchen, launching on June 7, is the latest venture from Michelin-trained chef Kieran O’Reilly.

It promises to bring a blend of Scandinavian calm and Italian-inspired dining to Hartshead Street in Lees.

Mr O’Reilly said: "Alan has believed in me for over a decade.

"This opening is as much his as it is mine."

The venue will serve a refined brunch menu in the mornings, using Michelin-level techniques.

The menu will focus on locally sourced produce, premium Italian meats, and fully homemade components, including misos made in-house.

During the day, the kitchen will offer focaccia sandwiches.

By night, Ruger Fjord will become a spritz bar serving small plates and a curated selection of spritzes and refined snacks.

The terrace is described as a bright and breezy space inspired by Sorrento, designed for long afternoons with limoncello in hand.

Mr O’Reilly credits long-time friend and mentor Alan Beak for supporting the project’s development.
