Spud Bros are coming to Oldham's Boundary Park this weekend

The viral, Preston-based jacket potato entrepreneurs announced last week that they will be visiting Boundary Park for Oldham Athletic's Football Festival and family fun day.

In front of the Joe Royle Stand, from May 15-17, with a fun fair operating on the opening night only, from 5.30pm-8pm.

A football tournament will be taking place from 10am on Saturday with entertainment running through until 8pm.

The weekend will be rounded off by a family fun day, running from 12pm to 6pm.

It was originally reported that Spud Bros would be making an appearance at the Latics ground only on the Saturday, but now the brothers Jake and Harry Nelson have announced on social media that they will be there for all three days.

In one video, they also reveal the prices of their jacket potatoes. The Spud Bros Classic, which consists of cheese, beans, garlic butter, ‘tram sauce’, crispy onions, will set you back £6.50.

The Premium Spud, with garlic, chilli, chicken, cheese, ‘tram sauce’, crispy onions, costs £8.

They’ve also asked Oldhamers how many potatoes to bring, adding that they will bring one potato for every like the post gets.

More recently the SpudBros have been asking locals for recommendations on where to eat in Oldham.

Some of the places that have been recommended include Curio in Royton, Grandpa Greene’s, The Egyptian Room, Albion Farm Shop, The Old School BBQ Bus, to name but a few.

It appears as though Oldham is looking forward to having the Spud Bros in town.

However, not everyone is jumping on the Spud Bros band wagon.

Barbara Lambe said: “Oldham has a spud shop its in the new market hall its busy and cheaper than your £8.”
