Wonderlust Bistro in Oldham reopens after 'major glow up'

Wanderlust Bistro and Bakery, located on Library Lane, announced it was closing its doors for refurbishment at the start of April.

In a social media post to customers, the owners said: “We can’t quite believe it. Wonderlust has now been open just over three years.

“From our first few customers to now seeing so many familiar faces every single week, it honestly means everything to us.

“Watching this place grow, meeting so many of you, and having people choose to come back again and again is something we’ll never take for granted.

“We’re just a small family run business, and every visit, every post, every recommendation has played a part in getting us to where we are today.”

They said that during their hiatus, they would be “giving the bistro a little makeover and also giving our full time team a well deserved break before the busy summer period”.

Last week, the team posted again to say that the reopening was delayed slightly to May 15, but that they had “loved seeing all your messages and excitement over the past few weeks, and we can’t wait for you to see what we’ve done with the place.”

The accompanying video gave a sneak peek of the new interiors, including limewash walls and sleek interiors.

It appears as though Wonderlust Bistro recently soft launched the transformation as a number of local food influencers and bloggers have been posting their reviews.

Blogger Peety Scranz praised the decor and said: “The steak sandwich was really good, but the pistachio and kunafa French toast absolutely stole the show for me.”

Instagram blogger foodini_mcr said that the restaurant has had a “major glow up” and is “serving up their signature steaks and dreamy desserts in cosy new surroundings”.

Another Instagram user at the soft launch said that “Oldham’s entered a new era of food.”

Wonderlust is open 10am-5pm on weekdays and 10am-8pm on Saturday and Sunday.
