Ambala to open new Oldham shop with free sweets giveaway

Residents in Oldham are in for a treat with free samples to mark the opening of brand new Indian sweet shop. 

Ambala, one of the UK’s most established South Asian sweet brands, will open its latest shop at 600 Ashton Road in Oldham on Saturday, marking the occasion with free samples of its signature Indian sweets and savouries.

The giveaways will begin at 11am as part of a launch celebration that also includes a complimentary four-piece box of dried mithai for customers who sign up for the Ambala Loyalty Pass on the day.

Sukh Chamdal, chief executive officer at Ambala, said: "We are delighted to bring Ambala to Oldham.

"Our mission has always been to share the authentic taste of traditional Indian mithai with as many as possible, and we cannot wait to welcome the Oldham community with our delicious range of handmade sweets."

Visitors can sample a wide variety of Ambala’s offerings, including celebration favourites like barfi and gulab jamun, along with popular snacks such as samosas and ladoos.

All products are handmade using traditional recipes.

The company operates more than 20 stores nationwide and has modernised its packaging and refreshed its look.

Customers can find their nearest store or place orders online by visiting the Ambala website. 

The opening and giveaway will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026 from 11am at 600 Ashton Road.
