Oldham rugby legend Kevin Sinfield has revealed the details of his seventh and final fundraising challenge in aid of MND research.
The former Leeds Rhinos player has been running seven ultra-marathons in seven consecutive days every year since 2020.
Over the years, these ‘7 in 7’ challenges have raised around £11million for MND charities researching and raising awareness of the disease, which claimed the life of his friend and former teammate Rob Burrow two years ago.
The next instalment of the annual challenge will be Sinfield’s last and it has been dubbed ‘7 in 7: The Grand Final’.
Sinfield and his team have now revealed more details of the challenge, including a day-by-day route.
Starting on Sunday, September 28, at the home of Rugby League World Club champions Hull KR, the ‘7 in 7’ team will visit all the grounds of the 12 English Betfred Super League clubs along the way.
The challenge will conclude at Old Trafford on October 3, ahead of the Betfred Super League Grand Final in front of 70,000 fans.
What is the route?
Each day is broken up into seven-kilometre blocks, which Sinfield must complete within the hour before starting his next block.
Day one – Start at the Sewell Group Craven Park (Hull KR), then head to MKM Stadium (Hull FC), through North Yorkshire and Market Weighton and finishing at Shiptonthorpe.
Day two – Leave Shiptonthorpe and head to Bishopthorpe Palace, the home of the Archbishop of York, stopping at University of York, LNER Community Stadium (York Knights), York Minster and ending at York Racecourse.
Day three – Leave Bishopthorpe Palace and through West Yorkshire, through Rob Burrow’s home of Pontefract, calling at Castleford Tigers and finishing at DIY Kitchens Stadium (Wakefield Trinity).

Day four – Leave Wakefield and head towards AMT Headingley (Leeds Rhinos), calling at Bartercard Odsal (Bradford Bulls) and finishing at Accu Stadium (Huddersfield Giants).
Day five – Leave Huddersfield and head across the Pennines to Sinfield’s hometown in Oldham, finishing at the Peninsula Stadium (Salford City FC).
Day six – Leave Salford and head to St Helens via the Leigh Leopards and Wigan Warriors.
Day seven – Leave Brewdog Stadium in St Helens calling at Halliwell Jones Stadium (Warrington Wolves) and over to Old Trafford.
How to donate
The money raised during the challenge will go to six MND charities. The main beneficiary will be the MND Association and donations will also go to Leeds Hospitals Charity’s support for the Rob Burrow Centre, the Irish MND Association, the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation, the My Name’5 Doddie Foundation and MND Scotland.
