The Oldham street sharing million pound Postcode Lottery win

Richard Sammon, Andy Swain and another neighbour in the OL1 postcode area have received a £333,333 share of the £1million Millionaire Street prize.

They were presented with their six-figure cheques at their home in Derker by singer Danyl Johnson.

Mr Sammon, a special needs school coordinator, said he was “lost for words, truly lost for words".

He added: "My twin daughters are about to go off to university. They're both taking their driving tests next month. So, if they pass, I can buy them each a car."

Mr Sammon also said he would donate to charity, saying: "It wasn’t just about me. The charity side of it has always been important."

Mr Swain said he would like to treat himself to a luxury Rolex, a dream safari and a VIP day at Oldham Athletic.

He also wants to replace the turf in his back garden so his children can play football all year round.

He said: “It’s all about getting some new grass down for the kids because they are always out there playing football.”

In a reel shared by the Postcode Lottery, Mr Swain described the win as “unbelievable” and “more than I could ever imagine”.

Mr Swain added that he would still keep on playing the lottery, adding: “You never know, I might win again.”

Three Oldham charities will also benefit from the win and will receive £50,000 each.

They are the Oldham Foodbank, which provides emergency food and support to people in crisis; the Fatima Women’s Association, which supports women and girls with education, training and health and wellbeing services; and Smart School Councils.

A minimum of 30 per cent of Postcode Lottery ticket sales go to charities. A total of £1.8 billion has been raised for good causes and projects so far.
