A road has been shut for six weeks while gas main replacement works take place.

Oldham Borough Council has announced the temporary closure of Boarshurst Lane, Greenfield, from Park Lane to Kinders Lane.

Tunstead Lane and Kinders Lane at their junction with Boarshurst Lane will also be affected.

The road closed on July 13, with the closure expected to last six weeks, or until the works have been completed.

The council has said an alternative route will be available via Tunstead Lane, Park Lane, Boarshurst Lane, and Kinders Lane.

The closure is to allow for the replacement of gas mains in the area.

A copy of the order can be examined at Spindles Oldham between 8.40am and 5pm on Monday to Friday.
