Denbigh Drive will be closed from July 27 to allow reconstruction of the road and footway.
The closure will be carried out in two phases.
Phase one will affect a 15-metre stretch east of the junction with Deer Hill Drive.
Phase two will close a 15-metre section to the west of the same junction.
The works are expected to take up to 14 days, but may finish earlier if completed.
During the closure, an alternative route will be available via Denbigh Drive and Dorset Avenue.
Copies of the order are available for public inspection at the J R Clynes Building, Greaves Street, Oldham, between 8.40am and 5pm, Monday to Friday.
