An Oldham restaurant has received a heavy fine after it was found to be operating outside of opening hours.
One of Uncle’s Tea Hut’s Oldham locations was caught having its doors open after 10pm on three occasions last year.
As a result, the restaurant has now been ordered to pay more than £1,500 for breaching the terms of a notice.
When planning permission was approved for Uncle’s Tea Hut to open a location on Lees Road in 2024, the terms stated the restaurant could only have its doors open between 9am and 10pm each day.
However, on November 18, November 20, and December 2 last year, the site was found to be operating after 10pm.

On Friday, July 17, Uncle’s Tea Hut Ltd and Muskan Khan, of Lees Road, were prosecuted for three counts of failing to comply with a breach of condition notice at Tameside Magistrates’ Court.
After being found guilty, the court issued a fine of £1,500, a victim surcharge of £400 and court costs of £250, bringing the total costs to £1,650.
Uncle’s Tea Hut, which also has locations on Manchester Road and in Rochdale, was approached for comment.
