An Uppermill restaurant which closed earlier this year has been taken over by a new owner who also runs a popular pub nearby.
Dinnerstone, based in Uppermill, has been taken over by Rob Norbury, who leads Muse Group and owns the nearby Farrars Arms pub.
The news was shared by the restaurant’s former owner, Charles Brierley, in a Facebook post.
Mr Brierley said: "I’d like to congratulate Muse Group, led by Rob Norbury, on the acquisition of Dinnerstone Restaurant and Bar, Uppermill.
"It was a pleasure to guide Dinnerstone for 20 years.
"I’m pleased and am looking forward to whatever changes they make, and it’s hopefully reopening soon.
"And more importantly, frequenting as a customer.
"Well done Muse Group."
Dinnerstone first opened in 2006 and closed earlier this year after two decades of service.
Mr Brierley, who also owns The White Hart at Lydgate, called the decision to close 'difficult'.
He said: "Today, it is with sadness that I am making the difficult decision to close the restaurant.
"Not all good things come to an end, but unfortunately my time operating Dinnerstone has.
"However, that leaves an opportunity for someone else, who knows what the future holds."
News of the closure was met with disappointment from diners.
Messages of support flooded in on social media, with one person writing: "What sad news. Loved this place.
"Had some wonderful meals there and the staff were so lovely – many of them became friends.

Another said: "Very sad to read this, love this place and the staff."
A third commented: "Had a lovely meal there before Christmas.
"Sad to hear you are closing.
"Best of luck to all the staff moving forward."
Mr Brierley thanked staff for their 'professionalism and hard work', noting that Dinnerstone was ranked third among Oldham restaurants on TripAdvisor.
He also confirmed that vouchers and deposits will still be accepted at The White Hart, where many Dinnerstone staff will now work.
Mr Brierley assured all suppliers would be paid in full, saying the parent company had not entered liquidation and all 'fiscal responsibilities' would be met.
