SEVEN debutants were on display for new-look Latics yesterday, so how did they do?

Ishmael Miller: Made a nuisance of himself as you’d expect from the battering ram frontman. He’s a big unit alright. Fitness an issue. 7/10

Christopher Missilou: Covered some distance in midfield – he has something of the Duracell bunny about him. 8/10

Johan Branger-Engone: Impressed on the left of midfield, later switching to the right when Nepomuceno was introduced from the bench. 7/10

Sam Graham: Will get better with experience alongside him. At 17, he should be more bothered about kissing girls and necking strong cider . . . but he's in the back four. 6/10

Sam Surridge: Toiled manfully without much success. 5/10

Giles Coke:  I hope there's more to come than his first-half performance,. Hauled off at half-time. Lacked fizz. 4/10

Daniel Iversen: Kept Athletic in the game with a smart stop from feet at the start of the second half and was close to saving Agard’s spot kick, diving the right way. No Cruyff turns but did go up for a corner at the death. Safe hands. 7/10
