AVRO progressed to Round Three of the Macron Cup when they thumped Manchester League side Wythenshawe Town 7-0 on home soil last weekend.

Wythenshawe started on the front foot, and actually could have taken the lead with better finishing.

But Avro were in ruthless mood and punished their misses.

First up was Kane Wallwork who fired the hosts into the lead on 28 minutes with a great finish from a tight angle on the left.

Jake Pollard made it two shortly after with a neat turn and finish after some great build up work.

Wallwork made it three on 50 minutes with as good a dead-ball strike as you will see at any level anywhere, superb technique planting the ball beyond the keeper into the top left-hand corner.

The fourth came on 62 minutes with Joe Bevan smartly rounding the keeper to fire into an open net.

Goal number five was added by the in-form Joe Rathbone who powered an unstoppable header past the Town keeper on 66 minutes.

Substitute Duncan Knott hit a wonder strike on 72 minutes, then rounded off the scoring in the 92nd minute with another tidy strike with his left foot.

Avro face a tricky tie at home to Garstang FC in the next round, who will be looking to avenge their 4-2 defeat at the Vestacare in the Hallmark Security League First Division North earlier in the season.

In the same division, Chadderton came from behind to draw 3-3 at home against Bacup Borough.

Harry Pratt equalised on 52 minutes before two goals in four minutes from William Shawcross put the home side in charge.

However, Bacup struck twice to earn a point.

In Evo-Stik West, Mossley drew 0-0 at home against Kidsgrove Athletic last weekend.
