A HAT-TRICK of tries in the first half hour by centre Zack McComb set Oldham on their way to a 36-12 win against Whitehaven at the Vestacare Stadium.

Man-of-the-match Ritchie Hawkyard weighed in with two more, Dave Hewitt added another and with his six goals from seven shots Roughyeds won 36-12 to go third in the table behind Workington Town and Coventry Bears.

There were two surprise results, Hunslet winning 20-18 at Doncaster and Coventry Bears getting the better of Newcastle, 32-28. Oldham attendance: 546.
