SCOTT Naylor is looking forward to the day when his “quality’ squad reaches its full potential.

Speaking after the 36-12 win against Whitehaven, the Oldham boss said: “After a defeat it’s always important to come back with a win, so I was very pleased with that.

“We’ve still got a hell of a lot of improvement in us and that’s a massive positive. If we can keep getting better we’ll get to the stage where we’ll be very difficult to beat.

“I know there was a lot of last week’s performance (beaten by Workington 28-32) in what we did today but when things started to go a bit awry in the second half we coped a lot better than we did last week.

“We looked a lot more mature than last week, but we need to keep on improving.

“We’re a lot better than what we’ve seen so far and that’s why it’s all so exciting. We have a lot of quality in this team and in this squad and when we start playing for 80 minutes to the best of our ability there’s an awful lot still to come.

“It’s exciting because this is the best squad I’ve had in all my time at the club. I know what it is capable of, and to know that makes it a very exciting time, and one that club and supporters can look forward to.”
