OLDHAM have been hit by a disciplinary double-whammy with two-match bans for winger Aaron Jones-Bishop and play-anywhere Anthony Bowman.

They will each miss the Betfred League 1 home clash with London Skolars on Sunday, March 24 and the fourth-round Coral Challenge Cup tie at home to Widnes Vikings the following weekend.

Jones-Bishop and Bowman were suspended by the RFL disciplinary committee for their part in the same incident, dangerous lifts on North Wales Crusaders winger Rob Massam in the 29th minute of a game which Oldham won 16-14 in exceptionally wet and rainy conditions in Wrexham.

Jones-Bishop was penalised and given a yellow card by referee Matthew Rossleigh but there was no on-the-spot sanction for Bowman, who went on to make a massive impact on the game by setting up the winning try for half-back Dave Hewitt near the end.

The club declined to comment.
