Mark Heffron goes in search of professional win number 23 in Leeds on Saturday night.

The Oldham middleweight knows victory will set him up for major title opportunities, ‘Kid Dynamite’ in line for a shot at the European Boxing Union’s EU title.

This weekend, at the First Direct Arena, the 27-year-old takes on Poland’s Daniel Urbanski on the undercard of home favourite Josh Warrington’s IBF world featherweight title defence against Sheffield’s Kid Galahad.

Heffron’s only defeat came in a British title bid against former world title challenger Liam Williams in December, the Robert Rimmer-trained fighter stopped in the 10th round.

He rebounded with victory over Serge Ambomo on home soil at Oldham Leisure Centre in March with Urbanski the final hurdle before he steps back into major fights.

“I had the warm-up fight back in Oldham and after this one I think I’m definitely more than ready for whatever’s available,” Heffron said.

“There are loads of good fights at middleweight domestically and beyond.”

Elsewhere on the Frank Warren card, leading super featherweights Zelfa Barrett and Lyon Woodstock meet in a hotly-anticipated clash for the Commonwealth title, with Jason Welborn and JJ Metcalf also vying for the vacant Commonwealth super welterweight championship.

Other fighters confirmed in action on the bill include Lyndon Arthur, Alex Dickinson, Jack McGann and Troy Williamson.

The show is live on BT Sport.
