OLDHAM Athletic continued to reshape their squad ahead of Saturday's League Two opener at Forest Green Rovers by signing three players in one day.

Latics have brought in former Auxerre II midfielders Florian Gonzales and Dylan Fage with academy product  Kielen Adams returning to the club after a spell with Bradford.

The trio follow on from Saturday's confirmation that former Manchester United man Chris Eagles has joined the club.

The 33-year-old ex-Bolton and Burnley winger has been without a club since leaving Ross County in April 2018.

Like Eagles, French pair Gonzales and Fage have been with Laurent Banide's side during pre-season, playing in several friendlies as trailists.

Gonzales, 19, has signed a one-year deal with the option of a further year while Fage, 20, has signed a two-year contract.

Striker Adams, 18, is another who has done enough to earn a deal during pre-season, scoring twice in the draw against Ashton United.

He was with Latics from Under-12 to Under-16 level before taking up a scholarship at Bradford City.

Adams didn't make a senior appearance for the Bantams but did appear on the bench on a couple of occasions.

While the Latics squad has taken shape in recent weeks, Banide will be hoping his side will show an improvement on their pre-season form at Forest Green on Saturday.

Pete Wild enjoyed his return to Boundary Park on Tuesday night with the former Oldham boss seeing his FC Halifax Town side win 1-0 in his first game in charge.

It completed a disappointing run of pre-season results for Latics on home soil, Oldham having als gone down 2-0 to Halifax's fellow National League side Stockport County on Saturday.

Those reverses follow on from the 3-2 defeat to Rochdale earlier in the summer.

Now comes a tough opening day test in Gloucestershire with Forest Green one of the sides fancied to be at the sharp end of the division this season.

Mark Cooper's men finished fifth last season and lost out in the play-off semi-finals to Tranmere Rovers.
