TO coincide with a significantly increased prize pot, Oldham RL Club is launching a major initiative to increase membership of its Club Cash lottery.

The end of the season is not too far away and Roughyeds have already used up their allocation of 10 home games in the regular Betfred League 1 season.

Crowds are up on last year, thanks mainly to the club’s community initiatives, but they are still at a level which demands reliance on funding from other sources, such as Club Cash, to keep the club’s head above water.

The club has announced that from this week’s draw there will be an increase in weekly prize money of approximately £1,275, taking the amount of money to be won each week to a figure of £3,100 or thereabouts.

It is not a definitive figure as the number of £10 consolation prizes can vary but the current average of 45, is rising to approximately 65.

The guaranteed weekly first prize goes up from £1,000 to £2,000. The £250 second prize remains the same and the third prize is down slightly from £125 to £100, but there is now a fourth prize of £50 and two prizes each of £25 plus approximately 65 consolation prizes of £10.

The weekly jackpot remains the same, going up by £500 a week when not won to a maximum of £10,000.

Fans get all those chances to win for £1 a week and that isn’t going up.

The club says it cannot stress too much how important it is for the future well-being of Roughyeds to increase income from Club Cash.

Fans can download a standing order form off the club website and instruct their bank to pay £4.35 monthly, £13 quarterly, £26 half-yearly or £52 annually.

The form must then be sent to the club’s lottery co-ordinator John McAndrew, Oldham RLFC, Vestacare Stadium, Whitebank Road, Oldham OL8 3JH.

For more details contact John at the club on 07904 898177, preferably on Wednesday afternoons or Fridays. If he is not available leave your name and contact number and he will get back to you.
