OLDHAM Rugby League Club have announced that CDX Security will be the club’s main sponsors in the 2020 Betfred Championship season.

The Warrington-based family business, a national leader in the supply of security services across the UK, supported Roughyeds with various sponsorships in 2019.

Managing director John Roddy said publicly before the Roughyeds’ Promotion Final that, win or lose, CDX would again be supporting Oldham RLFC and its chairman Chris Hamilton, a good friend, in 2020.

He has kept his word and more. As the club’s main sponsor, CDX Security will be proud to have the company logo on the front of the Roughyeds’ 2020 playing shirts and replicas.

A former chairman of Leigh Centurions and Swinton Lions, Roddy was awarded the Freedom of the City of London in 2014 for services to the private security industry.

He and his director sons Christian and Elliot head an 11-strong management team behind a company which prides itself in refreshing the security industry with proactive management and innovative security solutions.

CDX was formed in 2012 to support organisations in the improvement of security operations, policies and protocols.

Based in Warrington, it is owned and run by the Roddy family which carries family values and leadership into the business.

“Chris (Hamilton) and I go back a long way and as a former club chairman myself I acknowledge what he has done over more than 20 years to keep pro rugby league alive in Oldham,” said Roddy.

“We enjoyed backing the club with various sponsorships last year and when we attended the two play-off games at the Vestacare Stadium we were really impressed by the club’s hospitality and the hospitality of the fans, who made us really welcome.

“We were delighted when we entered discussions with Chris for the 2020 main sponsorship and we’ll be proud to have the company logo on the front of the new shirts.”

“We are delighted to have CDX on board as main sponsor for 2020,” added Hamilton.

“People will have seen instances of various sponsorships by CDX at different times last season in the run-up to promotion and it goes without saying how much that was appreciated.

“I’ve known John for several years. Our promotion to the Championship was celebrated by CDX and together we are looking forward to life in the higher division and strengthening our corporate partnership over the course of the season.”

The newly-promoted Roughyeds are currently advertising their many sponsorship packages under the strap line: ‘Take your business to a new level with Oldham RLFC’.

Many packages re available, suiting all budgets and requirements.
