OLDHAM Athletic have snapped up veteran midfielder David Jones on a short-term deal.
The 35-year-old, who left Sheffield Wednesday at the end of las season, has been training with Latics this week.
The former Manchester United youngster has extensive Premier League and Championship experience with Derby County, Wolves, Wigan, Blackburn Rovers, Burnley and the Owls.
"With the busy Christmas period coming up, we decided to add some more quality and experience in our light midfield area,” said Oldham boss Dino Maamria.
"Despite his age, David has kept himself in great shape and has won multiple promotions during his career.
"He's coming to Oldham to make a real impact and help the team climb up the table."
Jones could make his debut in the FA Cup second round tie against Burton at Boundary Park on Saturday.
