DINO Maamria believes his Oldham Athletic side are blowing too hot and cold.

Latics saw their six-game unbeaten run end with back-to-back defeats this week, losing 2-1 at Crewe before being thumped 5-1 at Exeter.

It leaves Maamria’s men 19th in the League Two table ahead of hosting Forest Green Rovers at Boundary Park on Saturday.

The Latics manager has always maintained he is focused on building towards next season, but insists he wants more from his players after a tough week.

Maamria said: “(Chris) McCann is a good player and we’ve got some good players there, but what’s the definition of a good player? A good player is a good player every week.

"You see the Exeter players they are journeymen League Two players and they know how to win, you don’t see 10 out of 10 and you don’t see three out of 10 you see solid six, seven out of 10 each week and they know how to win and they do the basics really well and as a team, we don’t do enough of that.

"Sometimes, we look like an unbelievable team and other times we don’t look very good, so you can’t win anything without consistency.

“We need consistency and characters who can turn it on every game and we haven’t got that, yet."
