OLDHAM have made former Wycombe man Sido Jombati their first signing of the summer.

The arrival of the 32-year-old Portuguese defender on a one-year deal is expected to start a flurry of transfer activity at Boundary Park after the arrival of Harry Kewell as the club’s new head coach.

Former loanees Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Carl Piergianni are also expected to be confirmed as new arrivals sooner rather than later.

Jombati is fresh from helping the Chairboys win promotion to the Championship and spent six years with the club, making 185 appearances.

He previously spent three seasons with Cheltenham.

"I'm really excited to have moved up here and joined this club,” Jombati told the club website.

“Oldham Athletic is still massive, it has a passionate fanbase and I'm ready to show everyone what I can do out on the pitch.

"I'm a player who can play across the back four and I will always help the team out in any way I can.

"I've loved the past few years at Wycombe, but now is the right time for me to have a brand new challenge and I believe my previous experiences have made me a stronger character."
