OLDHAM Athletic have had their EFL Trophy group confirmed.

Harry Kewell's Latics will be in Group F taking on Bradford City, Doncaster Rovers and Wolves Under 21s in the initial stage of the 2020/21 competition, following this afternoon's draw.

The EFL Trophy has been split into northern and southern sections with invited clubs joining League One and Two Clubs in one of eight groups.

The invited clubs include the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Wolves.

Oldham faced Liverpool U21s at Boundary Park in the group stage last season and won 3-2 thanks to a Jamie Stott goal in the last 10 minutes, but they went on to suffer defeats away to Accrington Stanley and Fleetwood Town.

The EFL Trophy will officially get underway with Matchday One played during week commencing September 7, and culminating with a final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday March 14, 2021.

The competition format remains unchanged, however, the title sponsorship with Leasing.com has come to an end so the competition will revert back to the EFL Trophy.

Fixtures have yet to be confirmed but the group stage match dates are as follows:

Match 1 – week commencing September 7; Match 2 – w/c October 5; Match 3 – w/c November 9;

All dates are subject to change due to Carabao Cup progress but the Premier League U21 team always plays away.

The 2020/21 Sky Bet EFL fixture schedule will be released on Friday 21 August at 9am.
