OLDHAM Athletic will kick off the new League Two season at home to Leyton Orient.

The game on Saturday, September 12 marks the start of the condensed fourth tier campaign.

Cup dates are to be confirmed but Latics are pencilled in to host Carlisle in the first round of the Carabao Cup seven days earlier with the opening game of the EFL Trophy group stages also potentially happening in the week before league action gets going.  

The opening month in the league sees a trip to Stevenage on September 19 and Crawley’s visit to Boundary Park on September 26.

Other eye-catching dates include visiting Bolton on October 17 and heading to Salford on October 31.

The reverse fixtures come on March 2 and January 30 respectively.

Christmas sees Latics welcome Football League new boys Harrogate on Boxing Day, head to Grimsby on December 29 and visit Forest Green Rovers on January 2.

Over Easter, Stevenage are the visitors to Boundary Park on Good Friday, April 2, with Harry Kewell’s side heading to Crawley on Easter Monday, April 5.

The season concludes with a home game against Forest Green on May 8.

Games are set to be played behind closed doors until at least October.
