OLDHAM Athletic’s squad building has continued with the signings of two players who have been on trial with the club.

The left-sided Jordan Barnett has signed a deal until January having been let go by his hometown club Barnsley while former AFC Fylde centre half Kyle Jameson has penned a one-year contraqct.

Barnett, who can play on the left of midfield, on the wing or at full-back, scored the winning goal in Latics’ pre-season friendly against Curzon Ashton.

The 20-year-old Burnley youth product said: “It feels brilliant to be here and everybody has made me feel welcome.

“I’ve had a good few weeks with the lads already and I’m now looking forward to helping the team at the start of the season.”

Former Chelsea and West Brom youngster Jameson had experience on loan at Barrow before joining Fylde where he made 21 appearances last season.

The 21-year-old said: “I'm really buzzing to be here and happy to get my future sorted now.

"I'm a defender that likes to play out from the back with the ball and I've had a good few weeks training with my new teammates.

"This is a really good opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the Football League, so I just can't wait for the season to start."
