LATICS boss Harry Kewell has looked to Italy for his next signing after bringing in left-back Andrea Badan on a two-year deal.

The 22-year-old spent time with Oldham in pre-season and has done enough to make a permanent move to English football.

Badan began his career in his homeland with Serie A side Hellas Verona and has gained first-team experience with loan spells at Prato, AlbinoLeffe, Alessandria, Carrarese and, most recently, Cavese.

Overall, the full-back has notched up 100 senior league appearances whilst contributing three goals and five assists.

He is Latics’ 13th signing of the summer, Kewell also this week bringing in Australian forward George Blackwood.

Badan, who is relocating from Venice, said; “I can’t wait to wear these colours and it’s an immensely proud moment for me and my family.

“I’ve always dreamed of playing in England and now I’ve achieved this I am willing to work hard to help the team be successful. It’s a new experience but an exciting one and I promise everyone I will always try my hardest.

“I want to repay the faith shown in me.”
