ACCRINGTON Stanley goalkeeper Toby Savin has signed a new three-year contract with the club.

The 19-year-old made his first appearance in League One last Saturday, starting the game against Peterborough United. And it was a debut to remember, keeping a clean sheet in the 2-0 win at the Wham Stadium.

The occasion has been marked with a deal that will keep him at the club until 2023.

"It's the perfect start for me and I'm just buzzing to get this new deal over the line, and I'm delighted to sign another contract," said Savin.

"This is the perfect club for me and for the start of my career.

"I've been given the chance to play first team football early on and I just want to repay that by doing my best for the team and for the fans."

Speaking to the club's official website, he added: "I got quite a few messages from the fans and we all know how supportive they can be, they've sent me a lot of messages wishing me good luck."

Savin has kept three clean sheets in five appearances for Stanley.

The stopper joined the club in 2017 and in November 2019 he received a call-up to England Men's Goalkeeping Development Camp at St George's Park.
