THEO Robinson could be on his way back to Colchester United after being removed from Port Vale's squad list.

The 31-year-old has been de-registered by Vale and taken off their squad list, to comply with EFL rules which cap squads to 22 players.

The League Two side signed another former U's striker, Kurtis Guthrie, last week.

That brought Vale's squad up to the maximum number of players over the age of 21, leading to Robinson, who played 28 times and scored 14 goals while on loan at the U's last season, being removed.
