MARK Heffron’s next fight could take him to Poland.

The Oldham fight favourite is looking to bounce back from his British title defeat to Denzel Bentley in November in their eagerly-anticipated rematch.

Heffron would love the chance of a third fight after the first ended in a draw but for now it looks like he could be making a return to Europe.

The 29-year-old middleweight is no stranger to travelling on the continent having fought in several countries in the early stages of his professional career.

That included Ireland, Spain, Hungary, Holland and Poland – his second fight in the professional ranks being a victory in Olsztyn back in September 2010.

As he looks to rebuild after the Bentley loss, Heffron has praised manager Kevin Maree for the work he has done trying to secure him his next opportunity.

“It’s in April time and is in Poland,” ‘Kid Dynamite’ told British Boxers TV.

“I don’t know if it’s 100 per cent yet, I’m just waiting to find out but hopefully it is and then I can get straight back in there.

“It’s come from my manager Kevin, he’s a busy man! He’s always on the phone, always looking for new things for us.

“I’ve been there and done it in Europe and I’m looking forward to it.”

Bentley is the long-term goal however even if Heffron acknowledges he is not at the front of the queue to face the Lonsdale belt holder

The unbeaten Battersea fighter is being lined up to defend his British 160lbs belt against Commonwealth champion Felix Cash, the fight having been ordered by the British Boxing Board of Control.

Heffron knows who he thinks would win should the pair meet and is ready to pick up the pieces.

“Hopefully we can get the third fight on (with Bentley),” the Michael Jennings-trained fighter said.

“I see that Denzel’s fighting Felix Cash, or at least there’s talk of that happening. I think it would be a good fight, Cash would win and then hopefully me and Denzel can get it back on again.

“I’m very confident that I will beat him. I definitely won the first fight and that third one is one I’ll always want.”
