Avro have confirmed joint managers Lee O’Brien and James Hampson will again lead the team in the North West Counties Premier Division next season.

The duo have overseen the club’s rise from the Manchester Premier League to the top of the NWCFL’s top flight, which is where they found themselves when football was suspended in January.

O’Brien said: “We are really pleased to be committing to the club for the forthcoming season, we’ve always wanted what’s best for the club since day one and to be in a position where we can be competitive.

“We have a genuine care for the good of the club in the long-term and we would never put that at risk.

“Avro have a fantastic structure in place, and we have a solid nucleus of players which have been loyal to ourselves.

“James and I are hungry and excited to get back to competitive action. Work begins now preparing pre-season and getting everybody up to speed after what has been a strange 12 months. We’ll be ready, make no mistake abut that.

Hampson said: “Following our meeting with the chairman (Rob Fuller), he talked us through the work that has taken place off the field during the lockdowns and the time we have been out of action, and the plans that are in place for the coming season and indeed beyond.

“This showed us very clearly the aspirations of the club and the ambition and intent to progress that we know matches our hunger and ambition.

“The support and trust that the chairman has shown in myself and Lee made it easy to agree to lead the club for another season.”

The NWCFL season will begin on July 31.
