INJURY-HIT Oldham will probably be strengthened by the return of three senior players in tomorrow’s Betfred Championship clash with Halifax Panthers at Bower Fold (12.45pm).

Coach Mat Diskin’s provisional 21-man squad, four of whom will drop out, includes Martyn Reilly, Liam Kirk and Ryan Ince, who are all back in contention after injury.

Also in are on-loan youngsters Jack Bibby, from Wigan, and Jack Croft, from Wakefield.

Bibby, 19, who was playing his first game for more than a year, scored one of Oldham’s four tries in the defeat at London Broncos, and enhanced his growing reputation with a strong display in the front-row coming off the bench.

Croft, 20, a young centre, is more experienced than Bibby, having played in eight Super League games and two Challenge Cup ties. By comparison, Bibby has played all his rugby at Wigan in the academy side apart from one game in the reserves. He is highly regarded at the Warriors, however, and is said to be on the fringe of a first-team call-up.

Oldham: Abram, Bent, Bibby, Brierley, Charnock, Croft, Fletcher, Gregory, Green, Hewitt, Holcroft, Hutchings, Ince, Johnstone, Kirk, Langtree, Nelmes, Owen, Reilly, Roberts, Spencer.

Halifax: Rawsthorne, Worthington, Woodhouse-Hall, Harris, Robinson, Moore, Murray, Garside, Barber, Fairbank, Larroyer, Springer, Callott, Kavanagh, Davies, McGrath, McComb, Boubouh, Tibbs, Tangata, Hewitt.

The home game against Whitehaven, scheduled for Sunday, May 9, has been brought forward to the day before, Saturday, May 8, with a 12.45pm start. That’s so it can be streamed live on Our League for the benefit of locked-out fans.

These two home games will both be shown on Our League, free to Oldham season-ticket holders and only £4.95 for others if purchased before midnight tonight.

Roughyeds have added their weight to sport’s social media boycott this weekend.

The club’s website will not be affected, but there will be no posting on the Roughyeds social media platforms from 3pm today until 11.59pm on Monday.
