A maximum of 100 Oldham fans will be allowed entry to the Featherstone ground to watch the Betfred Championship game tonight.

Tickets must be purchased online via the Featherstone Rovers website on a first come, first served basis. They are available until 3pm.

Permission for 100 Oldham fans to buy tickets as per the conditions given above was given by the RFL and by the Featherstone club's local authority, Wakefield Council.

Tickets for Oldham fans are for standing only, priced at £20 adults, £15 concessions, £5 under-16s.

Oldham fans who take up this opportunity must be aware of all terms and conditions, on the Featherstone website, and must provide all the relevant information requested when purchasing tickets.

A Roughyeds spokesman said: "Our supporters MUST be aware that tickets have to be bought via the Rovers website before 3pm Monday and only those who have purchased by that method will be allowed entry.

“There is no point in anyone just turning up at the ground and hoping for the best."

On the field, John Hutchings is included for the first time this season in Oldham’s 21-man.

John Hutchings

John Hutchings

The former Wigan Warriors and St Helens youngster has been at Oldham for nearly 19 months – only three weeks behind head coach Matt Diskin – but due to lockdowns, injury and the curtailment of the 2020 season in its infancy, he has dragged the Oldham jersey over his head only three times.

Whether he plays at Featherstone, unbeaten in the Championship this season and aiming for promotion to Super League, won’t be known until the line-up is announced an hour before kick-off, but to be in Diskin’s provisional 21 puts him well in the frame.

Oldham fans may remember that in Diskin’s first game as boss, a pre-season friendly at Barrow in early 2020, Hutchings came off the bench, was thrown into a position he had never occupied previously, the front row, and had a blinder.

He was named at centre in the Law Cup clash at Rochdale seven days later, but he damaged a hamstring that kept him out for six weeks.

He reappeared in a Challenge Cup tie at Widnes, but he suffered a recurrence of hamstring trouble – and he hasn’t played since.

The 21-year-old has been working hard on his fitness and his athleticism since the start of pre-season training several months ago and he looks set to be given another chance.

The injury list still includes Phil Joy, Matty Wilkinson, Tyler Dupree and Kyran Johnson

Centre Ben Heaton, half-back Dave Hewitt and utility back Ryan Ince could all be in line to return the side however.

Squad: Dan Abram, Liam Bent, Danny Bridge, Tommy Brierley, Lewis Charnock, Matthew Fletcher, Callum Green, Dec Gregory, Joe Hartley, Ben Heaton, Dave Hewitt, John Hutchings, Ryan Ince, Liam Kirk, Danny Langtree, Luke Nelmes, Gareth Owen, Shaun Pick, Martyn Reilly, Max Roberts, Jack Spencer.
