HEYSIDE continued their unbeaten start in the Greater Manchester Cricket League Premier Division with a 47-run win against Astley & Tyldesley.

In a reduced overs game, it was the hosts who batted first, scoring 188-9 in 34 overs as Ben Holt top scored with 47.

Will Avery was the star of the show though, taking 7-28 to bowl Astley & Tyldesley out for 141.

Roe Green are also yet to taste defeat and they got the better of low-scoring affair with Greenfield.

The early leaders made 166-9 from their 50 overs as Sachithra Serasinghe took 4-36.

Greenfield were then all out for exactly 100, Adam Robinson, with 48, and Liam Parfitt, 33, scoring almost all the runs and sharing a partnership of 75 having come together when the score was 20-6.

Moorside have their first Premier League win with a six-run victory against Woodbank.

Overseas amateur Vataly Wilkinson hit 53 from 42 balls as Moorside posted 147-7 from their 25 over innings, and Woodbank were always behind the scoring rate, needing 17 from the last over which ultimately proved too many.

Glodwick went down to 41-run defeat against Flixton.

Arkam Zeer took 5-42 in the first innings as Flixton scored 181-8 before Glodwick were bowled out for 140, Zeer also top scoring with 36.

In Premier 2, Woodhouses went down to a 63-run defeat at Heywood.

The hosts made 170-7 batting first before Hashan Gunathilika made an unbeaten 46 at the top of the order in reply. But with no support Woodhouses were all out for 107.

Royton went down to a 91-run defeat at Bradshaw.

Tom Liversedge led the way with 63 at the top of the order as the hosts posted 195-6 batting first, Zafir Patel also making a quick-fire 51 from 24 balls down the order.

Callum Porteous took 4-57 for Royton but despite Liam Brown’s 33 they struggled with the bat.

Ross Dickinson finished with remarkable figures of 4-4 from two overs as the visitors lost their last four wickets for just 12 runs and were all out for 104.

In the Championship, Shaw moved up to second with a big win in a rain-affected game against Westleigh.

Lincoln Roberts made 68 from just 46 balls in a total of 176-7 batting first, Westleigh then skittled out for just 54 for a 122-run victory.

Uppermill came up 24 runs short chasing 169 in defeat at home to Swinton Moorside.

Friarmere were dismissed for just 58 as Elton moved top of the table with a 100-run victory.

Oldham were six-run winners at Droylsden in Division One while Austerlands’ game at Denton was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

Division 2B action saw wins for Micklehurst, by 20 runs against Werneth, Saddleworth, who were five-wicket winners against Wythenshawe, and Springhead, who got the better of Denton West 2s by three wickets.

Ashton lost by 130 runs at Denton St Lawrence 2s.
