OLDHAM Athletic have announced four of their six pre-season friendlies, with two of them at Boundary Park.

Keith Curle's Latics kick-off their summer programme away to non-league Ashton United and Stalybridge Celtic, ahead of home games against League One Wigan Athletic and Crewe Alexandra, with two further fixtures to be confirmed - all to be played in July.

And head coach Curle believes their schedule will provide a good test for his players.

"We have a good balance of different teams and how they operate with their playing styles but are all of a very high quality which is what you need to learn from to make a positive start," he said.

"These have all been organised to make sure the squad are tested properly before the new season."

Latics will travel to Ashton United on Saturday 10 July, kick-off 3pm, then Stalybridge the following Tuesday (kick-off 7pm)

They then host Wigan on Saturday 17th and Crewe on Tuesday 27th.

The players return to training before the end of the month, and are set to play one of the remaining two friendlies against higher league opposition. Both dates have yet to be confirmed.

In addition, Oldham's Under 18s will travel to Huddersfield Town’s Canalside training ground on Saturday 17 July (10:30am) before a select XI play Avro at the Vestacare Stadium on Saturday 24 July (3pm).
