FOUR DAYS TO GO . . . and Mum’s the word ! Call it what you will, Mothers’ Day or Mothering Sunday. Either way, it’s her special day on Sunday, for many of us the one day in the year when we pamper the lady who gave us the most precious gift of all -- our life.

This year, Mothers’ Day falls on the very day the RFL launches its 2022 Betfred League One season and also on the day Oldham Rugby League Club will link the big kick-off with game one its 25th Anniversary season.

It could hardly be a more significant day in the annals of the Roughyeds over the last 25 years and, backed by Stu Littler and his players, they will be going flat out to make it a day to cherish and a day to remember.

So why not take Mum to the club’s intriguing clash with Keighley Cougars at the Vestacare Stadium (3pm kick-off) and make it a really special day by treating her to Roughyeds hospitality.

The full price is £30-a-head, but on this special day it will be a bargain £15 for Mums who are with sons, daughters or any adult who is paying the full £30. A complimentary glass of bubbly will also be thrown in -- the club’s way of toasting Mum and thanking her on your behalf for her lifelong love and loyalty.

For £15 she will enjoy a buffet lunch with bubbly, watch the game and, with her party, become a Roughyeds insider for the afternoon, listening to chat and interviews with club personnel pre and post-match.

To book, and it needs to be done before NOON on Thursday, simply ring the club on 07904 898177 or email to: enquiries@roughyeds.co.uk

Outside of hospitality, ALL Mums going to the match, be they Oldham supporters or Keighley fans, will be greeted at the turnstiles by our ever-popular mascot Roary, given a daffodil to mark the occasion and handed a free ticket for entry into a half-time Mothers’ Day draw.

Cost of the daffodils will be met by YEDS, the club’s new Supporters Group, who are also organising a monetary collection for the children of Ukraine and a drop-off point for children’s toys and clothing (see Roughyeds’ website for full story).

First prize in the draw will be a Spa Day for two with afternoon tea. Second and third prizes will be flowers and chocolates. The winning numbers will be announced over the PA system at half-time and prizes will be presented to the lucky winners in hospitality immediately after the game.

Match tickets can be bought in advance online via the Roughyeds website ---go there now -- or you can pay at the turnstiles like this:

Adults, £15 standing, £16 sitting; Concessions, £13 standing, £14 sitting; Students (with ID), £4 standing, £5 sitting; Under-16s, FREE standing, £2 sitting.

Oh and don’t forget . . . for the rest of this week and up to and including Sunday, Mum’s The Word !
