LANCE Alberts hit a half-century as Moorside won a thrilling Greater Manchester Cricket League Premier Division clash against Astley and Tyldesley by just one run.

His knock of 53 helped Moorside to 185-5 and three wickets apiece for Imran Khan (3-57) Mehmood Ul-Hassan (3-45) then helped bowl out A&T for 184.

Heyside also enjoyed victory with a 113-run triumph against Denton St Lawrence thanks to a century from Tom Avery (101) who helpoed his team amass 300, ably supported by Alcindo Holder (57).

Avery then took 4-72 as DSLwere all out for 187.

In Premier Two, Shaw secured a two-wicket victory at Glossop.

The hosts were out for 167 thanks to 6-52 from Janaid Dawood and then Jack Pilling top scored with 34 as Shaw reached 168-8.

Joe Hepworth scored 39 in Greenfield’s 166 but Flixton’s 172-3 sealed a seven-wicket win.

Glodwick made 159, thanks mainly to Franco Lenhardt’s 40, but opponents Flowery Field reached 160 with the loss of any wicket to record a 10-wicket triumph.

Woodhouses won by 150 runs against Whalley Range in the Championship.

Ethan Pietkiewicz (59), Alex Spender (53 not out) and Nick Hardman (43) helped Woodhouses to 208-6 before Hardman’s 3-24 helped skittle Range out for just 58.

Dukinfield saw Sydney De Silva score 26 and take 4-38 but they scored just 118 before losing by two wickets against Monton (119-8).

Royton made 137-2 in reply to Mottram’s 136 to register an eight-wicket victory.

Adil Ali took 3-17 in the first innings before Chirag Khurana scored 53 for Royton.

Friarmere also won by eight wickets after four wickets apiece for Kaleem Asghar (4-50) and Shahid Mahmood (4-51) restricted Swinton Moorside to 155.

Friarmere then made 160-2 thanks to an unbeaten 102 from Mohammad Aslam and 44no from Mudassar Sharif.

In Division One, Sajjid Ali took 4-11 and top scored with 38 for Oldham (149) but they lost by 55 runs against Thornham (204) even though Chaudhry Yasin also took 4-38.

Adam Sunderland hit a century for Austerlands and was supported by Imran Rafiq (46) as they won by 68 runs against Golborne (143).

Austerlands made 211-7 before Rafiq took 5-21 to restrict Golborne.

In Division Two B, Werneth won by a huge 200 runs after scoring 293-8 against Denton St Lawrence seconds.

Mustafa Shinwari scored 55no and then took 5-36 as DSL closed on 93.

Milnrow, meanwhile, scored 100 but fell 72 runs short of Denton West seconds’ total of 172.

Aaron Brown (3-36) and Bradley Smith (3-45) were the pick of the Milnrow bowlers.

Micklehurst (192-8) won by two wickets against a third Denton side.

Denton made 187 as Rizwan Hussain took 5-31.

In their reply, Micklehurst’s Danny Clayton (53) and Tom White (57) hit half-centuries.

In the Division Three East derby clash, Ashton beat Ashton Ladysmith by 97 runs.

Ruman Ahmed (63) and Ahasan Shazad (60) top scored for Ashton in their 243-8 with Ladysmith’s Saeed Nazeer taking 3-58.

Ladysmith were then all out for 146 with Ashton’s Josh Gee (4-18) the pick of the attack.

Woodhouses seconds (173-8) won by 77 runs against Springhead (96) with Ben Leeson scoring 46 and Parvez Hussain (4-39) the pick of the Springhead bowling.

James Coote then took 5-30 for Woodhouses.

Finally, in Division Four East, Failsworth Macedonia recorded a five-wicket win at neighbours Newton Heath.

Lewis Wood (4-68) and Paul Rigney (4-23) took four wickets apiece to restrict Newton Heath to 156.

Wood then scored an unbeaten 40 in Failsworth’s 159-5 to help secure the victory.
