An international boxing world champion will return to the ring this weekend on a massive show.

Mark Heffron from Oldham is already a household name after becoming Super Middleweight Champion and Intercontinental Champion at the London Copper Box Arena on July 16.

But tomorrow night, Heffron will defend his titles in Manchester’s AO Arena on the undercard of Joe Joyce and Joseph Parker.

Speaking before the fight, 30-year-old Heffron said: “I’m ready now, I’ve been in the gym day in-day out, after I came back from holiday all I’ve is train.

“I’ve never felt better and I’m ready to go out there and get another win.

“It feels amazing to be fighting on the undercard in Manchester, that’s honestly amazing and I’m thrilled to be on it.”

Heffron, trains with famous coach Joe Gallagher at Amir Khan’s gym and is nothing but full of praise for his team on getting him where he is today.

He said: “Joe’s been training me, I’m lucky to have him, the team work so hard and my training has gone so well.

“I’ve been non-stop for some time now and it’s all going to pay off.”

The boxer has won 28 of his 31 fights so far, and is on track to reap up yet more success this weekend.

He said: “More than anything I’m just so thankful for all the support I get and I’ve been out everyday handing out tickets and it feels good.

Heffron is known to cut no corners in his fighting, after landing blow after blow against Lennon Clarke at his last fight, the international champion looks to extend his record in Manchester.

His gameplan is simple, to be better and to do what Heffron always does, by not giving his rivals a chance to breath once he gets going in the ring.

He said: “It’s going to be a great night of boxing. I hope people can come and support me and I’m always grateful for it.”

Joyce and Parker will fight in Manchester for the WBO interim heavyweight title and whoever wins is in the running to challenge champion Oleksandr Usyk for his belts.
