Oldham middleweight Mark Heffron produced an explosive quickfire defence of his Super Middleweight and Intercontinental belts at the AO Arena on Saturday night.

The 30-year-old beat Argentine Martin Ezequiel Bulacio with a first-round stoppage on the undercard of Joe Joyce’s victory over Joseph Parker.

It was a supremely professional display by ‘Kid Dynamite’ in his first outing since winning the British title in July - a left hook to the temple that sent Bulacio senseless, forcing the stoppage.

It is now 29 wins from 32 outings for Heffron who trains with Joe Gallagher at Amir Khan’s gym in Bolton.

After being congratulated in the ring by friend Tyson Fury, Heffron took to social media and said on Twitter: “What can I say. Walking out in that arena last night with my belts hearing that noise from the best supporters I could wish for, I had to put on a show. I hope you enjoyed it.”
