An international boxing world champion has his eyes on a European title next after a string of wins in the ring.

Oldham’s Mark Heffron is in good form and after winning the British and Commonwealth Super Middleweight belt and the Intercontinental belt in the summer, the WBC champion is now looking to take the European belt.

With Frank Warren by his side, Heffron is in the ring as often as he can be and beat Argentine Martin Ezequiel Bulacio in the first round of his fight on the undercard of Joe Joyce and Joseph Parker on Saturday, September 24.

The 30-year-old middleweight is not slowing down any time soon either.

He said: “The whole experience was good, I really enjoyed it being on such a huge night of boxing.

“I was buzzing, so I got in there and got the job done first round.

“Going forward I want more titles, my manager and my promoter are looking to put me forward to fight for the European title and that’s another reality good title one I would love to have.”

Heffron trains at the Amir Khan Academy under Joe Gallagher, who he thanks for his coaching and incredible support.

He said: “What is next for me I’m not 100% sure yet, but my manager is in talks with Frank Warren at the minute so I should know in the next few weeks hopefully.

“How do I feel about the future? As long as I keep winning, the future is looking bright.

“There isn’t anyone in particular I want to fight. I think just anyone that’s holding titles I would like to fight.

“I just want to keep moving forward with my career and collecting more titles.

“My goal is to be a world champion one day.”

Heffron is now sitting comfortably on 29 wins from 32 outings.

He said: “Do I feel I’ve achieved what I wanted to by this stage? Yes, definitely because I hold the WBC international title, the IBF intercontinental title, the British title and the Commonwealth title so yeah, I’m happy where I am up to, but I definitely want to pick up more titles yet.”

The ‘Kid Dynamite’ was also congratulated by Tyson Fury at the fight at Manchester’s AO Arena.
