PETER Clarke is back at Boundary Park, after joining on loan from Walsall.

The move, which also reunites the 40-year-old defender with his former Everton team-mate David Unsworth, is set to delight Latics fans as much as it has the Latics boss.

Clarke, who came through the Toffees' youth ranks, spent three years with Oldham after signing from Bury in 2016.

Of securing his return, on a deal until January 1, 2023, Unsworth said: “Peter’s a player I know very well, I played alongside him many years ago.

“He’s had an impeccable career, and I know how well loved he was during his last spell here.”

Clarke, who is closing in on 900 career appearances, is eligible to make his debut at home to Barnet tomorrow, and has been given the shirt number 42.
